BEECHMONT WORKSHOP WEEKEND

All City Walls were asked to work closely with community to facilitate a mural program for locals affected by the 2019 bushfires. The Regeneration mural project served as inspiration for community recovery and to celebrate the connection to place.

After attending healing weekends and getting to know the artists and community we created a mural professional development workshop that would allow the chosen local mural artists to understand all the elements of creating a mural with council, SWMS, risk assessments, materials, working outdoors and more.

We designed the workshops to also allow the participants to paint a mural with the All City Walls team mentoring them over a weekend. This gave all participants the confidence to achieve their own murals in the coming months, which is often a daunting task for people who have painted on a larger scale.

The mural was visited by the Governor-General of Australia His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and his wife, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley when they visited the Scenic Rim to pay homage to the communities impacted by the 2019 September bushfires.
